Murphy’s Autocare Brakes & Suspension
Keeping your car in good running condition is more important today than it ever was. Choosing an auto repair facility is also important. Your choice of an auto care facility can affect your wallet, your safety, and the environment. There are many things to consider when making this choice. Let’s look at a few.

Finding a good auto repair shop has always been of great concern for most people. Not only do you want to receive great service, and get you money’s worth, you also want a place where you feel comfortable and at ease. Everyone has been in the situation where they go to an auto shop, and the mechanic quickly rushes you through, and you leave feeling like you’ve been taken advantage of. Fortunately, today there are numerous repair shops to choose from, so that no one has to be stuck with bad service. There are, however, a few things to consider when looking for a good auto shop.

One of the most important and easiest things to perceive when you enter an auto shop is the level of professionalism. When you enter a good auto repair shop, there should be someone greeting you and alerting you about wait the time. This not only shows that they are organized, but are considerate of you as well. Another sign of a good professional establishment are National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications. This organization provides ongoing testing and certifications for mechanics, and is an excellent way for consumers to verify if a mechanic is truly competent to do their job.

Another thing to look for, are mechanics that build good rapport with you. This means having a mechanic who will look you in the eye, listen to all of your concerns, and thoroughly explains how they can help you. This is a sign that they are trustworthy and concerned about your issues.

Another important characteristic of a good repair shop are clearly stated policies. These include estimates and guarantees on the work performed. These policies should be in writing and carefully explained to you by the auto shop.

An additional thing to remember when looking for a good auto shop is to always shop around. Visit different shops, get a feel of the employees, owners, managers, and ask friends and neighbors for recommendations. As an alternative, when you visit a new repair shop ask other people in the waiting area if they have used the shop before and how they liked it. Having repeat customers is good sign that you are in reputable establishment.

Lastly, when looking for a good auto shop, remember to do some research. There are many places to take your business to, so invest time in looking for the right place. A great reputable auto shop is family owned Murphy’s Autocare. Murphy’s Autocare has been delivering great service for years. Their employees are ASE certified and will make you feel like family. No matter where you choose to go, keep in mind all the tips mentioned above and you’ll be sure to find a good place to go for all you automotive needs.

Hey How Do You Like The Twins? Which One Would You Choose?

April 29th, 2009

Hi folks!  Just popping in here, I am considering an auto purchase.  Not quite the hybrid, wave of the future, type of auto.  Just a bit shy of that. May need a bit of work. Not quite ready to race around the track I suspect.

Which one would you choose?  Or should I get both?

The Twins

Pushing up daisies now, or dandelions!

Cheers,

Gene E-Racer

Feeding Your SUV Corn and Wheat Sucks Big Time

May 19th, 2008

Feeding Your SUV Corn and Wheat Sucks Big Time

Feeding corn and wheat to your SUV is just plain sick. Really it is but that is what is happening out there. Some years ago the politicians in a moment of weakness decided that a great way alternative source of energy was using corn and wheat to produce biodiesel fuel.

Not only has that resulted in soaring prices in these commodities, it has lead to a contribution to the shortage of this food source in the world. Clearly this was not well thought out. Yep, using that food source to feed the SUV is really sick.

To make a better product for fuel they have changed to a lower quality, less protein quality of wheat and corn. So even if they stopped using it that would be a poorer quality source to feed to people.

In a recent report it was said that algae is a better product to use to produce biodiesel as the same acreage can produce some 180 times what is now gotten from corn and wheat.

It looks like it is time to make the switch and help feed people the food products and use an alternative method for our vehicles. Feeding food to cars is not the solution.

There are many ways, many alternatives, let’s hope they get working on something better especially considering the disasters happening around the globe.

Cheers,

Gene E- Racer

Free Classified Sites Added for Successful Advertising

January 15th, 2008

You may or may not have noticed that I have added a free classified section to the site which is accessible by clicking on the Free Classified heading near the top. Basically it is a form of advertising which is highly rated and I have used it successfully.

If you join the referral program, which is free also, you may be able to refer others and pick up a bit of funds for doing so. There is no obligation. The US Free Ad (buy or sell anything) site seems to be very popular, it is multi-purpose with ads for many different ads and it can be combined with the Jeeps Classified. You will get good exposure to any site or product you wish to advertise or bring attention to.

I will post the sample of the banners that you can use and also the text links so you can see how those look on a website.

If you have a blog you can add the links or banners, if not you may want to try it on a free site such as blogger

You will also notice many bloggers using Google Adsense on their blogs and websites for additional revenue.

Cheers,

Gene E-Racer

Car Accidents Can Be Dangerous To Your Health. Funny, Is It?.

November 25th, 2007

Ok, someone sent this to me and said to listen up. I hesitated at first, not really wanting to listen to the gruesome details.

Well I mustered up the courage and let it play. I suggest you do so but, for sure, be careful, this is very graphic so some things may come undone a bit if you are not too careful.

  • This is what could happen to you, I hope not, but:
  • Check this out >>>> : Car Accident.
  • Who would have thought something so serious. Wow. Impressive.
  • You think this is funny?
  • Do not try this at home folks. I wonder if this happens at NASCAR. Hmmm. Probably not, eh!

Cheers,

The Big One and Villeneuve at Talladega

October 9th, 2007

The race is over and Villeneuve (21st) managed to escape from being involved in the “big one” as in race car crash. He decided to start at the back of the pack rather than the 6th place position he earned in qualifying. Just a precaution and a wise one it seems. In any case the experience in participating in this race is what he was after and he managed to get 500 miles at that.

Yes, there was a substantial crash that he was not involved in. Both the absorption provided by the track and the design of the cars are attributed to those involved walking away without anything noticeable injury-wise. The sight-lines were quite impaired with lots of smoke to hamper visibility and in some cases that visibility was zero.

The winner was Jeff Gordon who took over the lead on the final lap after hanging back for most of the race.

It appears Villeneuve may take part in the Cars of Tomorrow on Nov 11th at Phoenix.

So with the truck race and the Cup race experience Villeneuve will be looking to add more experience as he moves along this path.

Racing on out of here for now.

Villeneuve Qualifies 10th at Talladega NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series

October 6th, 2007

It is a busy weekend for Villeneuve, on Saturday is the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race Oct 6th, 2007. He qualified 10th out of 36 for the truck race. That race is now over and he finished 30th after getting caught up in a 3 vehicle crash on lap 54. At the time he was running near the back of the pack.

He has qualified 6th for his debut in the NASCAR Nextel Cup UAW-Ford 500, for which he has been given the green light by NASCAR. This moves his schedule up by 5 weeks for entry into that series. This appears to be making some nervous as Villeneuve has little experience in drafting other than in a couple of test runs. There also seems to be a number of variables that make these races very challenging and a high likelihood of crashes occurring.

On Sunday he race in the UAW-Ford 500.

So an interesting start to the weekend for Villeneuve and hopefully there will be clear running in the Nextel Cup race tomorrow.

Out of here for now,

Gene E-Racer

Vehicles Seized, Speed Racing And Dangerous Driving

October 2nd, 2007

The crackdown began on speed racing and dangerous driving in Ontario this week. A new law is in effect and already 41 drivers have had their licenses suspended and vehicles taken away, temporarily. A 7 day storage bill will run about $1000 and fines range between $2000 and $10,000. This will likely send a strong message, or so it is hoped, to those who take the risk and act on their desires to do so.

Over 36 vehicles were impounded by noon Oct 1st, 2007. Some of them were rental vehicles and that will cost an extra week in rental fees. One young fellow started to cry seeing “mom’s” car being towed away.

Looks like they mean business.

Wishing you a safe and pleasant drive today and every day.
